The following is just a sample of what we should be looking into in the Infrastructure forum section. We need a thread on almost each of the following so we can get a clear idea what we truely need.

  • Server Room
  • Well duh, this is what this thing is all about. A building suitable to store, maintain and run the entire network from. With suffient power.
  • Networking/internet connections (see [1])
  • Also key to the entire nation, the server room will need to be linked to some form of network, either satalite or other methods to connect the the web. Also an internal network betwork would be needed. The country should be a role model to the rest of the world, as the first true digital nation.
  • The place will need juice to keep going. It needs a secure, safe building to house the generators to power the entire complex. Quite a task.
  • Living Quaters (including washing facilities)
  • Suitable habitates for everyone living on the island, nothing fancy, but enough.
  • Waste disposal
  • Don't want piles of shit and rubbish lying around do we? We need effective drainage for water, places to dump the waste and rubbish.
  • Recreational Facilities (bar, club ect)
  • You can't expect people to live for an extended period of time and not kick back and relax, we need an enviroment to keep sane.
  • Storage
  • A secure building of suitable size to keep all the misceleanous items.
  • Food storage
  • A secure building that can be used to store a months supply of food at least.
  • Small dock or harbour
  • We need a place to safely move on and off the island.
  • small medical facilities
  • Most unsevere medical problems need to be treated onsite, without flying/boating to the nearest hospital 100kms away.


[edit] What would be nice

  • Reinforced buildings, concrete 'bunker' like buildings for all the key structures. (See [2] )
  • Again, it's just the normal buildings, but designed to be more protective, from the elements like storms, or possible raiders.
  • Underground storage, server rooms, shelter ect. (See [3])
  • Helps save land space, yet provides more protection
  • Armoury, to safely store firearms if they are ever needed. (See [4])
  • Weapons might be needed, but weapons need to be stored safely along with ammunation.
  • Island defence, pillboxes, walls, fenses, observation points ect.
  • Some purpose built defence might be needed, depends where the island is located. To make it more safe for the inhabitants.
  • Information/communication center
  • The island would benefit from a communication network, which could include WAN/LAN/ WiFI coverage, telephones, loadspeakers, klaxons, security cameras, radios, internet hub and what ever else. Mostly used for none recreational activities and staffed by more trained guys.
  • Tourist facilities
  • Possible sources of income.
  • Airstrip
  • who knows, might need a place to land a light plane.
  • Shops/mini market
  • Self explanitory, maybe not needed at all.
  • a Office/HQ to deal with bureaucracy.
  • Some place to deal with all the boring shit of running the new nation. Money, PR ect.
  • Clean renewable power supply.
  • Hey, having a completly eco*friendly country might generate some publicity.
  • Vehicals + vehical facilities
  • All depending on the island, But a place to store and maintain vehicals would be needed.
  • expanded medical facilities
  • All depends if we need larger medical facilities depending on the population.
  • Shooting range for weapon drills.
  • If we got guns, we need to train those people to use them safely. We need a safe place to ensure that.
  • Media facility.
  • What would be cool, would to have our own local digital radio available on digital radios and over the internet worldwide. To have our own online newspaper, and also online live TV from the island, which is available over the internet for anyone. All this can help create great attension. Which would you rather read or watch? Some Emo's blog or youtube video, or listen/watch to the worlds first micronation like ours creating history before your very eyes. Even to follow on 'Steal This Movie' from the island.
  • Small Prison, holding cells.
  • Something suitable to hold one or two people safely for a shot period of time might be needed. With lots of strangers thrown in the mix, you don't know what will kick off, so some guys might need a Time*Out and a night in the slammer.
  • Farm/agriculture.
  • We can help improve profits buy growing some of our own food, to save importing it. It's very labour/skill intensive and takes up alot of space, and dependant on climate...
